Dorcas (Dolly) Fay (Crow) Grant

Dorcas (Dolly) Fay Grant age 81, of Whitney passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, April 26, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall  Funeral Directors in Whitney. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel. A burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. 

Dolly was born on December 10, 1941, to Charles Henry Crow and Vera Useller Shirley Crow.  When she was 14 ½ she met Donald Glen “Don” Grant at the drug store where he worked as a soda jerk, and she went home and told her mother that she met the boy that she was going to marry.  After graduating from North Side High in 1961, she married Don, on August 12, 1961.  Don and Dolly moved to Whitney, TX in 1970.  They owned and ran Don’s General Store for 12 years, before selling it and opening a real estate office.  Around 1986, they sold barbeque and burgers at the Whistle Stop, before opening up a stand alone restaurant named Cherokee Station, which also had a putt putt golf course and a swimming pool.  She and Don retired in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Dolly is survived by her husband and her daughter, Linda Grant Williams and her husband, Frankie Williams, and two grandsons, Christopher Cody Williams and Grant Michael Williams.
