Alvis “Pete” Radke, 83, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, September 27, 2019, at Homestead Nursing and Rehab in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Michael Nemec officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be Sunday, September 29, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Pete was born on December 30, 1935, in Bynum, Texas to Lafon and Annie (Degner) Radke. He was baptized into the Christian faith on March 15, 1936, in Malone and confirmed in his faith on April 2, 1950. Pete was united in marriage to Doris Adams on April 22, 1966, in Hillsboro. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1954-1958. Pete worked at Hawk N High Grocery store for 29 years as a butcher and later for Towne Square Furniture. He was a very active and faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church for 30 plus years. Pete was a very kind and caring gentleman and his girls wanted everyone to know that he never had a bad or negative word to say about anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his spouse, Doris Radke of Hillsboro; children, Melissa Carter and husband, Randy, of Hillsboro, Deana Montes and husband, Richard, of Bynum, and Diane Pace of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Brandi Bennett and husband, Eric, of Hillsboro, Cody Carter and fiancé, Kasey Watson, of Hillsboro, Holly Hall and husband, Shawn, of Nolanville, Clint Watson and wife, Courtney, of Rogers, Danielle Rutherford of Burleson, Ashleigh Rutherford of Burleson, Lauryn Rutherford of Burleson, and Colton Pace of Waco; and 3 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Bailey, and Carter.
