Louann Kyte, 77 of Whitney, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Emery J. Lilge Hospice House in Burleson, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Mertens, Texas with Rev. Seth Fuller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Richland Cemetery in Mertens. A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2019 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Louann was born November 25, 1941 in Milford, Texas to William Authur and Essie Lee (Yarborough) Elmore. She grew up in Mertens where she attended grammar school and then graduated from Frost High School. On September 13, 1958 in Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Harley Dean Kyte. The couple then lived in Italy, before moving to Cedar Hill for 30 years. She worked as a non-food manager for Tom Thumb for 31 years and retired on July 28, 2001. When not working she enjoyed fishing and camping. Louann was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mertens.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Billy Elmore; and sisters, Betty Cox and Frances Bell.
She is survived by her husband, Harley Kyte of Whitney, Texas; children, Gary Kyte of Whitney, Texas, Teresa Parrish and husband Larry of Whitney, Texas; brothers, Kenneth Elmore and wife Pat of Kennedale, Texas, Harold Elmore of Carrollton, Texas, Bobby Elmore and wife Dorothy of Waxahachie, Texas; sisters, Sis Walles and husband Jesse of Warren, Texas, and Doris Clanahan of Olney, Texas; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends.
