Richa Deene (Moore) McCullars

Richa Deene McCullars, 86 of Brandon, Texas passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Chaplain Doug Shafer and Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating.  Burial will follow at Bell Springs Cemetery Near Bynum, Texas. A visitation will be held  from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Deene was born January 21, 1933 in Aquilla, Texas to Herman Roy and Evangelina (Crowder) Moore. She lived in Baytown were she attended school. At the age of 16 she moved back to Aquilla.  She was united in marriage on December 30, 1950 to James Rodric McCullars Sr., in Whitney and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2018. The couple lived many years in Houston, and moved back to Hillsboro in 1991.  She was an avid reader, and a very active and faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro and also a member of the Woodmen of The World. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, James Rodric McCullars, Jr.; and brother, Norris Edward Moore.

She is survived by her children, Jerry McCullars and wife Cindy of Houston, Texas, John E. McCullars and wife Caroline of Katy, Texas and Joseph W. McCullars of Brandon, Texas; sister, Dorothy Barnes of Mckinney, Texas; four grandchildren, Samantha Brasse and husband David of Houston,Texas, Jason McCullars of Houston, Texas, Kaitlin Nicole New and husband Jeremy of Katy, Texas and Blaine Hunter McCullars of Bryan College Station, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Sammy McCullars, Alex Britain, Joshua Britain, Abigail McCullars, and Joshua Jamieson New; also there are several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
