Russell B. Hammer

Russell B. Hammer, 61, of Frost, Texas passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services will be at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019, with Rev. Tommy Watts officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00- 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors. 

Russell was born March 18, 1958, in Dallas to Doyle Hammer and Laura Hardaway Brackenridge.  He graduated from Denton High School and then joined the Army in 1978. After his time in the service, he opened his own café for a while. Later he became an over the road truck driver until his retirement in 2016.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, David Hammer.

He's survived by his partner, Susy Jones of Frost; two children, Daughter, Shawna St. John of Jacksonville, FL, and Son, Jarrod Hammer of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Jimmy Hammer and wife, Diane Hammer, of Hillsboro; sister, Janell Allen and husband, Tracy Allen, of Hillsboro; brother, Larry Bray of Forney; brother, Johnny Bray and wife, Cindy, of Tool; two aunts, Peggy Ray of Kemp and Janice Ince of Tompkinsville, KY; two grandchildren; and numerous cousins,nieces and nephews. 

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
