Alice Joan Hilton

Alice Joan Hilton, age 81, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, with Pastor Daniel Tanguma officiating. Burial will follow the service at New Woodbury Cemetery in Woodbury. A visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Marshall and Marshall.

She was born September 30, 1943, in Paris, Texas, to A.J. and Evelyn (Quisenberry) Johnson. Joan attended school in Crowley, Texas. She was united in marriage on June 5, 1989, to Virgil Hilton, in Itasca. Joan worked for Harbison-Fischer and later worked for Hill County in the District Clerk's Office for twelve years. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, Roaring River Missouri, going on an Alaskan cruise, shopping trips with her sister, Lea, and spending time with family. Joan was also an excellent cook and a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. 

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Evelyn Johnson; her sister, Lea Miller; and her brother, O.C. Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Virgil Hilton; her children, Kathy Shaw, Lynette Rice and husband, Larry, Ricky Hilton and wife, Beverly, Lori Morton and husband, Eric; her sister, Lona Ruth Baker; her sister-in-law, Joyce Morris; seven grandchildren, Kristi Gonzalez and husband, Eddie, David Shaw, Colt Shaw, Emily Shaw, Brittney Hilton, Emily Morton, and Joseph Morton; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Mannahan, Kyle Mannahan and Kensley Mannahan.
