Alvin Dean Adler, lovingly known as Dean, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at the age of 80. He was a longtime resident of Blum, Texas, and a man deeply rooted in faith, family, hard work, and a love for life's adventures.
Dean was born on December 29, 1944, to Ervin and Edna Adler, and grew up in Bynum, Texas, where he graduated from Bynum High School. He went on to earn an Associate Degree in General Studies from Hill College. After college, Dean proudly served his country in the National Guard as a paratrooper for seven years-an experience that reflected his courage, discipline, and sense of duty.
On January 17, 1975, Dean married the love of his life, Jennifer Rogers. Together, they shared 50 beautiful years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering love.
In 1973, Dean opened Adler Paint & Body, which he owned and operated for an incredible 53 years. His business was more than a livelihood-it was a reflection of his integrity, craftsmanship, and commitment to serving others. Dean was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in everything he did.
Dean lived life to the fullest. He had a passion for racing Corvettes in low-speed autocross and was a proud member of the Cen-Tex Corvette Club in Waco. At the age of 50, he decided to learn how to snow ski-continuing the sport until he was 70 years old. He loved traveling across the United States, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and spending time with his beloved Basset Hounds, who brought him endless joy.
A man of strong faith, Dean was a devoted member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney, Texas. Above all else, Dean loved life, loved his family deeply, and loved the Lord.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Adler; his son, Bob Schronk and wife Julie; his sister, Linda Fisk; and his cherished grandchildren: Megan Escañuela and husband Alex, Lendi Schronk, Christina VanDam and spouse Reese, Michaela Ortega, and Ryan Ortega. He was a proud great-grandfather to Khaleesi Escañuela, Parker VanDam, and Maverick VanDam. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Eugenia Gay Brown, and spouse, Dale, along with many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and great-great-nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved dearly.
Dean will be remembered as a man of faith, strength, adventure, and kindness-a husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Memorial Service: January 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Marshall & Marshall Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Texas.
