Barbara Jeanne Beasley Hooker was born on June 16, 1934, in Cleburne, Texas, and went home to be with her Lord on May 24, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and servant of Christ, she leaves behind a rich legacy of love, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
She was married to her beloved Billy Charles Hooker for 56 years, from March 16, 1957, until his passing in 2013. Together, they raised a family rooted in faith and service.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church Hillsboro since 1972, she poured her heart into her church community, teaching the adult Sunday school class for 20 years and exemplifying what it meant to walk with Christ.
Education and civic engagement were cornerstones of her life. A proud graduate of Baylor University and Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, she served as a public school teacher for 25 years and was honored in Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 1980–81 and 1983–84. Beyond the classroom, she remained active in her community through numerous organizations, including the Monday Review Club (Life Member and Past President), TFWC Triangle Forum of Waco (Past Officer), Hill County Republican Women (Past President), Fort Graham Daughters of the American Revolution (Past Officer), and the Hillsboro Heritage League.
Her legacy of faith, service, and family will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, John F. Beasley and Blanche F.Hamilton- Beasley, sisters, Julia Kramer, Mary Amenda, Helen Crochet, Betty Etier, Blanche Cole, and son-in-law, Dr. Larry O. Riedel.
