Betty Degner

Betty Mae Degner left this world surrounded by family and friends on August 27, 2025. Graveside services will take lace at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 29, 2025 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

She was born in Hillsboro, Texas on August 6, 1950, to James Walter Mayo and Lillian Mae (Shirrell) Mayo. She was a graduate of Sam Houston High School. Betty was a beloved grandma affectionately known as Nanny to her grandkids. She had a way of making everyone feel at home and welcomed. She will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to honor her memory are her sister, Sharon Kaye Mayo; daughter, Amy Rogers and husband Jeremy of Haslet; granddaughters. Alyssa Butcher of Aubrey and Skylar Butcher of Haslet; great-granddaughters, Miss Emma Early of Waxahachie and Gracie Shipman of Haslet; and honorary daughter Cary Clinkscales and her husband, Ben of Arlington.
