Bobby Jack Coonrod

Bobby Coonrod of Whitney, passed away on Saturday July 18th, 2026 at Whitney Nursing and Rehabilitation. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 22nd from 5:30-7:30pm at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney, Tx. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Bobby was born on February 13th, 1960 in Arlington, Tx to James Ray and Georgia (Geraldon) Coonrod. Bobby was a plumber by trade, working along side his father and brothers at Coonrod and Son's plumbing in Arlington. He was an avid outdoorsman and lake goer. In his younger years, he loved playing sports and as an adult loved playing softball, where he played on hundreds of teams in the metroplex for more than 2 decades. His later years he moved to Lake Whitney where he loved the lake life. He spend most days setting up and hosting horseshoe games, fishing, and kayaking with his daughter Brenda. He loved spending time with his friends and family. He always left the lake cleaner than it was, staying hours after everyone would leave to pick up trash and keeping the lake beautiful. Bobby also loved animals, he was always surrounded with his tiny dogs who followed him everywhere. He will always be known to his family as being able to talk to anyone for hours, even when his girls were ready to go home, praying he would wrap up his conversations soon! Bobby loved his family and was proud of his girls and his grandchildren. In his last few weeks, that was the main thing he told them, how proud he was of them. A memory we will all hold dear.

Preceding him in death were his father, James; two brothers, Jimmy and Doyle Coonrod; sister Janie (Coonrod) Ball; 2 nephews Dewayne and Canaan Ball.

Survivors include his mother, Georgia Coonrod; daughters, Brenda Husava and husband Richard; Candice Gore and husband Lanny; Tamara Minshew and husband Josh; grandkids, Thomas, Cooper, Kade, Lanna, Claire, and Sadie; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Whitney Nursing and Rehab as well as Wings over Texas Hospice for their care of Bobby.
