Brian Ray Walker

Brian Ray Walker, age 66, passed away in Tyler, Texas on July 17, 2026 due to complications from a heart procedure.

Brian was born on April 20, 1960 at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, TX to Tommy James Walker and LaNeda Anne Burch Walker. Brian grew up in Arlington, TX and graduated from Lamar High School in N. Arlington. After school, Brian went to work for Lone Star Gas for several years. After this, he began his entrepreneurial journey - first in landscaping, then he became “the Hat Man”.

Many years ago, Brian relocated to Cayuga, TX where he attended the Navarro County Police Academy and became a Deputy Sheriff for Freestone County and proudly served the public. After serving in this role, he went back to his entrepreneurial ways buying and selling cars.

Brian was a special individual in this world. He was kind, cared about other people, and lived with intentional integrity and honesty. He was very independent and never wanted to bother others. He treasured God’s creation and His creatures and developed a beautiful property where he lived happily with his cows, goats, turkeys and sweet pups. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. He is survived by aunts and uncles Jeff & Sharon Blakney and Priscilla Burch, first cousins Jay Blakney and wife, Karen, Tana Beth Bradshaw Cagle, Stephen English and wife, Leeann, and Kathy Cullen and husband, Andy.
