Carolyn Joan Bilderback

Carolyn Joan Bilderback, age 83, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 24, 2026, at The Heights Church in Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Born July 23, 1943, in Italy, Texas, to Carroll Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth (McIntosh) Buchanan. She grew up in Abbott, where she played basketball in high school. After graduation, Carolyn attended nursing school at Grant-Buie. She and her husband, Ted Bilderback, shared fifty-eight years together prior to his passing in 2024.

Carolyn enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, painting and spent endless hours completing word find puzzles and was almost famous for it among her friends. She was a founding member of The Gospel Center Church which is now The Heights Church. Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Mary Buchanan; her husband, Ted Donnell Bilderback; and one sister, Helen Ruth Jackson. Carolyn is survived by her son, Larry and wife, MinHaeng; her daughters, Carol and husband, Stormy, and Tammy and husband, Peter; her sister, Judy Wade; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and her beloved bird, Skye.
