Cecil Wayne Marley, 72, of Hillsboro passed away at his residence on July 8, 2005. Cecil was the son of Zachary Andrew and Molly Jacobs Marley. He moved to Marlow, Oklahoma as a young child and grew up there and attended Marlow Schools. As a young man he moved to Brownfield. During the Korean War, he served his country in the U.S. Army. On June 29, 1956, he and Lela Black were married in Brownfield. Working in elecrical construction, he lived and worked in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas before settling in Hillsboro on January 1, 1971. For 30 years he was employed by Flowers Construction where he worked as a lineman and foreman until his retirement in 1996. Cecil enjoyed working with mechanical things and being in the outdoors. He was a Baptist and a lifetime member of Hillsboro Amvets. Preceding him in death were his parents; 4 brothers, Lewis "Hap" Marley, Norman Marley, Cliff Marley, Odell "Babe" Marley; 3 sisters, Letha "Sis" Smith, Mary Sally Cole and Ola Faye Riley. Survivors include his wife, Lela of Hillsboro; children, Tony Marley and wife, Caprice of Hillsboro, Brett Marley and wife, Petra of Edgewood; grandchildren, Abbey Marley, Maggie Marley, Kyle Marley and Connor Marley; and a number of nieces and nephews.
