Celia Fay Caperton

Celia Fay Caperton, 93, of Whitney, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, at home. Graveside services will take place at 12:30 PM, Friday, February 27, 2026, at Whitney Memorial Park. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10: 30 AM to Noon, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Our beloved mother, Celia Fay Caperton, entered the kingdom of heaven surrounded by her children on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She was born in Whitney, Texas, on April 28, 1932 to Jessie and Toni Overton. She was known as "Polly" by her friends and family and as "Mom" to all of her children and grandchildren. She married Melvin Caperton in 1948, and together they had four children. Mom loved to work in her garden, but most of all, Mom found great joy in helping and serving others.

She was preceded death by her mother and father, Toni and Jessie Overton, brothers Shine (Lena) Overton, Charles (Hazel; Eileen) Overton, and sisters Wanda (Chelsey) Auten, Raye (Al) Epps, Sue (Don) Brown,
and June (Jim) Carmichall.

Celia is survived by her children, Charlie (Melinda) Caperton of Angleton, TX, Rebecca (Jim) Will of Cedar Hill, TX,
Teresa (Larry) Ward of Dickson, TN, and Brian (Leah) Caperton of Whitney, TX, her grandchildren Chris (Carole) Ward, Stephanie (Wade) Gibbs, John Will, Scott (Rhiannon) Will, Troy Caperton, Dustin (Brittany) Caperton, Garret Caperton, Kaylin (Justin) Rackley, and Gavin (Alesha) Caperton. She had fourteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
