Clay Dean Hamilton

Clay Dean Hamilton, age 98, of Itasca, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, at her home. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, with a burial to follow the service at Itasca Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 24, 2026, at Marshall and Marshall.

She was born February 2, 1928, in Blackwell, Texas, to Jackson Clay and Lucille Maggie (Taylor) Lanier. Clay Dean graduated from Itasca High School. She was united in marriage to John F. Hamilton on December 14, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1999.

Clay Dean enjoyed needlework, ceramics and tending flower gardens. She owned and operated Itasca Floral and Gifts in Itasca for twenty-four years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Lucille Lanier; her husband, John F. Hamilton; and her daughter, Janet Todd. Clay Dean is survived by her son, John Randall Hamilton, Sr. and wife, Dennette; her grandchildren, John Randall Hamilton, Jr. and wife, Jenifer, Cory Todd, and Justin Todd and wife, Sandy; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
