Cyndi was born on June 11, 1958, to Charles Ray and LouAnn Smith. Cyndi was the apple of her father's eye and she knew it, often sweet talking him into anything. She inherited her mother's strength, deep love for family, her spunk, cooking skills, and loyalty.
Throughout her childhood and teenage years Cyndi can be described as a spit fire. She was one of the sweetest and most fun-loving people, but fiercely protective of those she loved. She was a cheerleader, avid tennis player, admired by everyone and truly unforgettable.
In 1977, Cyndi met the love of her life, Mike Estill, and they married in 1978. In true Cyndi fashion, she was a firecracker from day one. Their love for each other burned bright for forty-seven years as together they built a wonderful family and community. Mike was Cyndi's rock all the days of her life and their love was pure.
Professionally, Cyndi had a very successful career as a loan officer for the US Department of Agriculture for thirty years. Her work family was a very important part of her life.
Throughout Cyndi's life, she was loved by many and truly touched other hearts. She was the first to step up to help anyone in need and that protective spirit never faded. She was also just so bright, beautiful and joyful. Her smile was big, and her heart was bigger. While Cyndi only had two children, any child in her presence became hers. She was a second mother to so many.
Cyndi really was a sweet soul. She listened more than she spoke. She wasn't one to gossip or speak ill of others. She loved it. She gave. She showed up in the hardest of times. She loved the Lord. No matter if she was sick or in pain, she still was more concerned for others than for herself. That was Cyndi, always.
Cyndi kept lifelong and deep friendships. There are many memories and stories, apparently some wild ones that cannot be told. Her and her childhood friends are lucky that cell phones and going live didn't exist, so there is no evidence. Those memories will be cherished forever.
Cyndi's greatest joy and her true legacy was being a Mom and a Grammy.
As a Mom, she was the best anyone could ask for. Everyone says that right? But truly Cyndi was one of a kind. Her every move and thought was to support, benefit and protect her children. There are no words that can describe the love between her and her kids. She gave the best hugs, I love yous, back rubs , advice, and would drop anything and everything to be by their side. She never missed the opportunity to support them, attending countless sporting events, school events, to nurse them if sick, and still make sure to bring laughter and fun to their life. She was a constant never ending inspiration. She taught her kids through her true unconditional actions, beyond comprehension love and faith. They are forever grateful to have her love on this Earth and now as a guardian Angel. There is nothing that would ever separate her love from them.
As a Grammy, although it didn't seem possible that a person could love even harder, she did. Her grandkids were always ready to see their Grammy. She was a joy, always. She had this way about connecting with them on their level and they knew they were in the presence of true love. Her grandkids have many sweet memories, and she was their best friend. She made the best brownies, spaghetti, sweet tea, they lined up for the back scratches, arts and crafts time, and she was a light in their life. Her love will continue to live through them.
Cyndi is preceded in death by her father Charles Ray Smith, grandparents JA and Mary Goldie Smith, and dear friends. Cyndi is survived by her husband Mike Estill, her children Scott Estill and wife Mindy, and Trista Bonner and husband Troy. Her grandchildren, Colby, Keegan and Bishop. Her mother LouAnn Smith, brother Steve Smith and wife Debbie, sister-in-law Tammy Hayes and husband Tony, brother-in-law Terry Estill, all her nieces and nephews, dear loved ones, and friends.
The last ten years Cyndi has had health struggles and she fought hard. Mike, family and dear friends have been by her side through it all. Cyndi was called to her Heavenly home on November 11th, 2025. She was surrounded by family as she left their loving arms to go into the Lord's.
Her memory will be carried on through each and every heart she touched. To know Cyndi is to know love. As we leave today we know hearts are broken. But we also know Cyndi is healed, Cyndi is loved, and Cyndi is watching over all that she loved.
