Darlene (Moore) Boykin

Darlene (Moore) Boykin, 79, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, by her daughter’s side in Itasca, Texas.  She was born October 15, 1943, to George Moore and Jewel Akeman, in Lancaster, Texas, where she grew up.

After working as a nurse for several years, Darlene worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield, processing insurance claims.  She loved caring for her cats and made many donations to the animal shelter in Sasche, Texas.  Darlene enjoyed crossword puzzles and caring for her wide assortment of flowers.  She also enjoyed country western dancing in her younger years. Her retirement years were spent in Wylie, Texas.

Preceded in death by her parents, Darlene is survived by daughters, Stephanie Walker and Shelley Mares; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Her memory will live on through her kids and grandkids.  She will be missed.
