David Ross

David Hayden Ross, 52, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

He was born March 4, 1973, at Beach Hospital at Fort Wolters in Mineral Wells, Texas, to John and Carolyn (McGahan) Ross. After graduating from Lancaster High School in 1992, David enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, serving as a federal agent out of Baltimore, Maryland in Chesapeake Bay. He served four years before being honorably discharged.

David worked in the maintenance department at the TA Truck Stop in Hillsboro for over five years. He loved his work and enjoyed collecting watches and unique wooden puzzle boxes. He will be sorely missed by his family and his beloved dogs.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John L. Ross, III. Survivors include his parents, John and Carolyn Ross; his son, John Ross and his wife, Shelby, of Italy, Texas, his grandson, Layton Ross; his brother, Joshua Ross and his wife, Amber; his sister, Heather Ross and her husband, Leonard Criss; his nephews, Jason, Colby and Jaxson; his niece, Makayla; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
