Deborah Lou Sides

Deborah Lou Sides, born on November 3, 1953, began her journey through life in a way that touched many hearts and inspired those around her. With great sorrow, we announce her passing on December 23, 2025, at the age of 72 years. She was a very loving person who met the challenges of her life with dedication and perseverance.

Deborah's legacy will be celebrated through the gatherings that will take place in her honor. A visitation will be held on December 29, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, located at 2495 Corsicana Hwy, Hillsboro, TX. The funeral service will follow on December 30, 2025, commencing at 10:00 AM, also at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors. She will then be laid to rest in a burial ceremony at the Hillcrest Garden of Memory, located at 3838 Texas Hwy 22, Hillsboro, TX.

Deborah was born in Hillsboro, Texas to Herman and Bobbie Stringer Sides. She attended Travis Elementary until the family bought a farm in the Vaughan community. Deborah enjoyed the outdoors and daily walks on the country roads by her home. She completed her education at Abbott ISD, receiving her High School Diploma in 1973. Deborah accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 16 and faithfully served the Lord at Walnut Baptist Church in Hillsboro throughout her life. The next 30 years consisted of working in several restaurants and as a housekeeper at various nursing homes and hospitals. For 16 years, Deborah was a helper and caregiver to her mother at their home in Vaughan.

Following her mother's passing, Deborah lived at Wesley House and made it her special place. At that point, she really enjoyed the freedom to live her own life. Sister days were always a special treat; shopping, eating out and getting pedicures. Attending her great nephews sporting events brought her great joy. Sharing family holidays helped keep her family ties strong.

Deborah has finished her earthly journey and is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus with family and friends. All is well.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Herman and Bobbie Sides; grandparents, Hugh and Robbie Stringer and Tom and Lucy Sides.

She is survived by her sister, Marquita Lloyd and husband, Dwight; brother, Howard Sides and wife, Michele; nieces, Lynita Haak and husband, Preston, Lanissa Willis and husband, Blake, Nephew, Nathan Lloyd, and niece, Dahlila McDonough and Husband, Brian; great nephews, Dylan Aldrich and wife, Sydney; Jaydon Aldrich, Landon, and Creighton Willis.

Memorials may be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Texas, or to your favorite charity.
