Douglas Wayne Bolton

Douglas Wayne Bolton, age 77, passed away on November 11, 2025, due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease.

Doug was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on September 26, 1948, to Luke and Ruby Bolton. He attended school in the Grand Prairie Independent School District and graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1967. After his first year of college, Doug joined the United States Air Force, serving from October 1968 to November 1972. During his service, he spent tours in both Thailand and Okinawa. Doug married Paula Goddard (GPHS Class of 1968) on May 15, 1969. Together, they had two sons. Following his graduation from Mountain View Community College, Doug worked for Texas Instruments and later for BancTec, Inc. He served as an engineer at BancTec for 29 years before retiring. Doug was an avid fisherman. After his retirement in 2013, he and Paula moved to Lake Whitney to enjoy lake life and pursue his lifelong love of fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his five siblings, and his son, Jason Ray Bolton.

He is survived by his wife, Paula, of Laguna Park at Lake Whitney; his son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Denise Bolton of Irving, Texas; and his grandson, Luke Bolton, also of Irving. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and fishing buddies.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Open Door Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.
