Douglas “Doug” W. Davis, 85, of Hillsboro, Texas passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. Celebration of Life visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Doug was born on September 5, 1940, in Dawson, Texas, to Wayne and Lena (Pitts) Davis, and was raised in Hillsboro. He later married Dorothy Ann Clay. The couple resided in Austin, Texas, while he pursued his studies in Computer Systems at the University of Texas and through graduate school, before relocating to Midwest City, Oklahoma, in 1968. He retired, after 40 plus years, from Hertz in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed playing pool, racing motocross, tinkering with 1952 MG car, wood carving, making/refurbishing home furniture, photography, hiking in Big Bend, cycling, triathlons, golf with Dorothy and family and traveling in their RV across the country, Moab, Utah being their favorite destination. After much dedicated training, he ran the White Rock Lake marathon and Boston Marathon.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann; three daughters, Liz Willman and her husband, Chuck, Annette Lester and her husband, David, and Molly Baucum and her husband, Jay; four grandsons, Austin and Jake Lester, Davis and Andrew Baucum; and 2 great grandchildren Kennedy and Banks Lester.
