Eloise Elizabeth Nunn, born on January 4, 1942, peacefully passed away on August 2, 2025. Known for her warmth and loving spirit, Eloise was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was filled with the love of family and friends.
Eloise often shared the whimsical story of how her mother found her under a seashell on Galveston Bay, a tale that encapsulated her vibrant and playful nature. Throughout her life, she created joyful memories with her loved ones, embracing activities that brought her happiness. Whether it was spending time with her family, engaging in the thrill of garage sales, or relishing in the art of shrimping and creating jewelry, Eloise approached life with a heart full of passion.
Her dedication to the community was evident in her service as a school bus driver, a role that allowed her to touch the lives of many children and their families. Eloise instilled values of kindness and love in everyone she encountered.
Eloise is survived by her son, Billy Phillips of Whitney; daughter, Carol Nalls; son, Lufkin Doyle Black of Montana; daughter, Michelle Williford of Peoria; along with 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bobbie Roy Black Jr.; husband, James Nunn; her father, Curtis Redfield; her mother, Bertha Robinson; her sister, Betty Thompson; and a great-grandson who was stillborn.
The legacy of Eloise Elizabeth Nunn will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A graveside service will be held on August 8, 2025, at Fort Graham Cemetery in Whitney, Texas, commencing at 10:00 AM. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family.
