Erna West

Erna West, 88, of Southlake died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Keller Oaks Healthcare in Keller. Erna was born January 24, 1919 in Star, Texas the daughter of John and Sara Eppler Ising. She grew up around the Star area and graduated from Evant High School. On November 11, 1938 she married John Joseph West and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2005. For 18 years she worked as a bank teller in Lubbock. They moved to Hillsboro in 1970 and lived there until moving to the Metroplex in 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Johnnie Dean Arnett. Survivors include her son, J. B. West and wife, Barbara, of Southlake; sister, Nila Smith of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, John Gordan West, Stephen Allen West, Jeanette Golden, Terri Vester, and Richard Kevin Kurtz; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
