Frank Marshall Oakes, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and Army Reserves, passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 76. A service honoring the life of Frank Marshall Oakes will be held Saturday December 20, 2025, with visitation to begin at 10:00 AM with service to immediately follow at 11:00 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, located at 2495 Corsicana Hwy Hillsboro, Texas 76645. Graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Garden of Memory 3838 SH-22 Hillsboro, Texas 76645.

The Son of Pete and Margaret Jane Peterson. Frank was born in Polk, Georgia.

Frank worked at the Kerrville State Hospital and owned and operated Oakes Air Conditioning along with his wife Barbara, to whom he was married for forty years. His favorite times in his life were taking trips to Utah, Washington D C and Big Bend with Barbara, going fishing on the coast with his dear friend Sam, son Walker and grandsons, playing golf with his friend Sam, and brother-in-law Jeff, going hunting with both his sons Walker and Patrick, and watching football. Frank was a big fan of the Texas Longhorns.

His commitment to community service was evident through his active membership in the Masonic Lodges in Kerrville and Hillsboro, Texas. Franks greatest lesson in life was "Don't put off doing what you want before it's too late"

He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, his oldest son, Danny and his beloved dog Honeybunny. Frank is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Walker Howell, (January), and Patrick Howell, (Diann); grandkids, Daisy (Logan), Marissa (Drew), Trenton (Allie),Cole (Kylie) Gracelynn, Addalea, Ryder, McCoy, and Memphis; great grandkids Micah, Clyde, Allaya; sister Melaine and husband, Jeff Moulder; and brother, Gordon Peterson and wife, Melissa; three nieces and two nephews.

Serving as pallbearers; grandson, Trenton Howell, Logan Brown, nephew, Jim Behrens, nephew, Sean Moulder, and dear friends, Bobby Howell, and Robert DeLuna.

In lieu of flowers the family asks on behalf of Frank memorial contributions be made to Parkinson Foundation and/or Wounded Warriors.
