With deep respect and heartfelt remembrance, we announce the passing of Georgeanne Leigh Ward (née Moore), who departed this life on August 6, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on November 15, 1953, Georgeanne graced every chapter of her life with gentleness, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Georgeanne’s life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and service. For a decade, she applied her meticulous skill and care as a seamstress before devoting twenty-five years to her calling as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Her commitment found a cherished home at Goodall Witcher, serving both the Clifton and Hillsboro clinics. Patients and colleagues alike found comfort and confidence in her capable hands and warm spirit, hallmarks that defined her professional career.
Those who knew Georgeanne remember her not only for her service but also for her delightful presence and nurturing personality. She radiated friendliness and kindness, finding joy and peace in creative pursuits such as painting, coloring, and crocheting. There was often a Dr. Pepper nearby—her favorite companion during moments of rest and reflection. Most of all, Georgeanne loved being surrounded by her family, grandchildren, and dogs—her pride and happiness shining whenever she was with them.
She leaves behind a devoted family who will forever cherish her memory: her beloved husband, Larry Ward; her sons, Larry R. Ward, Karry D. Ward, and Mark S. Ward; her daughters-in-law, Emily, Cherri, and Dallia. Her love continues in her grandchildren: Britani, Jerry, Alysa, Cadence, Corbin, Ashley, Amy, Kyleigh, Trenton, Kristin, and Kambree. Her brothers, Randy Moore and Jeff Moore, also survive her, carrying forward the legacy of familial warmth and fidelity she embodied.
Georgeanne is preceded in death by her father, George; her mother, Billie Moore; her brother, Marty Morgan; her sister, Donna Kay; and dear friends Jeff Flowers and Susan Thompson. Their memories live on in the stories and hearts of those who loved them.
Family and friends are invited to honor Georgeanne’s life and legacy at visitation on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, 201 N Bosque St, Whitney, Texas. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at the same venue on Tuesday, August 11, beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Whitney Memorial Park, 510 South Bosque Street, Whitney, Texas.
Georgeanne Leigh Ward’s life was beautifully lived—a tapestry of service, artistry, and enduring love. She will be remembered always for her kindness, her gentle smile, and the generous spirit that so deeply enriched the lives of those who knew her.
