James Briggs

James David Briggs, age 66, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at his home in Italy, Texas. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

He was born November 16, 1958, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Arthur and Nancy (Condreay) Briggs.

James was a truck driver to the core who loved the open road. In his spare time, he loved to cook using spices of all kinds. James could cook a mean brisket. All who knew him said, "He can smoke that meat!" He also enjoyed working on cars, family game night, playing games on his phone; Candy Crush, and Bubble Witch, and the little things in life. A major family man, he would give the shirt off his back and his grandkids were number one to him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Briggs; his wife, Robin Briggs; and his sisters, Carol Briggs and Rebecca Briggs. James is survived by his Mother, Nancy Briggs; his daughters, Tina Gregg, Rebecca Murrell and Heather Briggs; his grandchildren, Leah, Theresa, Midnight, Wyatt, Jesse and Diamond; his brothers, Larry Briggs and Steven Briggs; and his sister, Donna Briggs.
