Joan “June” Saunders, of Whitney, Tx, passed away to her heavenly reward on the morning of October 27, 2026. Visitation will be Friday, October 30 from 6 to 8 PM. Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 31 at 10 AM.
Joan, was born December 9, 1946, the youngest of 6 siblings, in Davidson County, Tennessee to the late Alex and Lomia Sparks. June, as all those near and dear to her, so lovingly called her, was a childhood nickname which came about from her love of catching June bugs.
June married James Odell Saunders on May 2, 1977 and he survives. June is also survived by her two sons Robert Alexander( Nikki) and Wayne Alexander, and Step-Daughter Caroline Saunders. Also surviving are our 8 grand children and several great grandchildren.
June had a love of civil war history and all John Wayne movies. Most of all, her husband, James, together willingly shared their devout love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with all those near. June was a member of Steiner Baptist. Her love for Jesus is what drove her daily life. June and James, without failure, would attend Sunday and Wednesday services wherever life may have taken them.
