Joey Uriel Sanchez, age 40, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Joey was a beloved son, devoted husband, proud father, caring brother, and cherished grandson whose life was defined by love, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to the happiness of others. To his family and friends, he was the one who showed up, who checked in, who made sure everyone was okay before thinking of himself.
An animal lover through and through, he found deep joy and pride in his dogs and farm animals, and in the home he created with so much care for his wife and children. That home was more than a place-it was a reflection of his heart: full, welcoming, and built on love. Of all his accomplishments, nothing made him prouder than his family.
He was known for his familiar words, "I'm on my way, I'm around the corner," a phrase that brought comfort and reassurance to those waiting for him. Now, we take solace in believing that he is truly on his way-around the corner and into heaven-watching over those he loves.
He is survived by his loving parents, Theodora Solis and Gerardo Cisneros; his wife, Erika Sanchez; and his children, David, Armani, Amethyst, Anastasia, and Audrey Sanchez. He also leaves behind his four sisters, Molly Quijano, Rebecca Cisneros, Marilyn Cisneros, and Jocelyn Cisneros, along with many extended family members and friends whose lives are forever better because of him.
He is preceded in death by Guadalupe Solis, Bradford Leggett, Amy Handy, Raphael Cisneros, Ricardo Watson, Linda Hernandez, and Erasmo Cisneros, whom he now joins in eternal peace.
Though his time with us feels far too short, his love, kindness, and devotion live on-in his children, in the animals he cared for, in the home he built, and in the countless hearts he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
