Johnnie Vlahakos

Johnnie Vlahakos, 82, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Fr. Ted Tsitsilianos of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Johnnie was born October 22, 1930 in Hillsboro, the son of Billie and Agelike Vlahakos. Growing up in Hillsboro, he graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1949. He went on to attend Hill Junior College and graduate from the University of Houston. He worked for the Remmington Company in Fort Worth and Houston. Upon returning to Hillsboro, he worked at the Turkey Shop in Abbott until retiring in 1990.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, George Vlahakos.

Survivors include his daughter, Evangeline Vlahakos; two brothers, Tony Vlahakos and wife, Eleni of Pasadena, TX and his twin, Andrew Vlahakos and wife, Joanna, of Franklin, TN.
