Karen Lea Rodriguez

Karen Lea Hurt-Rodriguez passed away July 22, 2026, in Hillsboro, Texas. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Central Baptist Church, Hillsboro with burial to follow at the Itasca Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 24, 2026, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro.

She was born on April 16, 1975, in Uvalde, Texas, to Reba and Arthur Hurt. Karen married Grady Rodriguez on February 18, 1995. She became a nurse in 1997 and sacrificed most of her life for the elderly population at the Itasca nursing home. She is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, Grady Rodriguez; her father, Arthur Hurt; three sons, Grady Rodriguez Jr., Shane Rodriguez, and William Rodriguez; two daughters, Jesusa Jones and husband Nathan, and Haley Rodriguez; three grandsons, Lucas Farquhar, River Ostoja-Rodriguez, and Raziel Rodriguez; two granddaughters, Zara Lawson, and Dani Jones; three sisters and two brothers; Cathye, Mellisa, John, James, and Nay-Nay. She is preceded in death by all her grandparents; her Mother Reba Hurt; and brother Arthur Hurt Jr. She was a member of Central Baptist Church Hillsboro, and loved all her church family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church Children's Fund, PO Box 263, Hillsboro, Texas 76645.
