L. P. Hamm

L. P. Hamm, 80, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. L. P. was born August 18, 1930 in Alabama the son of Ernest and Lois Marie Haynes Hamm. He grew up in Alabama and was a member of the Alabama National Guard for 5 years. In his early 20's, he moved to Texas. On September 8, 1947 he married Jean Weathers. He worked for Flowers Construction until he retired. Preceding him in death were his parents; two daughters, Melba Williams and Phyllis Carroll; and a grandson, Eddie Ray Carroll, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Jean Hamm of Hillsboro; three daughters, Mary Del Monte and husband, Peter, of Dallas, and Brenda Moreno and husband, Mark, and Gloria Shadwick all of Hillsboro; two brothers, Richard and Roger Hamm both of Alabama; five sisters, Ruby Hicks; Violet Abernathy; Ernestine Abbott; Josephine Poe; and Debbie Martin all of Alabama; six grandchildren, Bryan Mitchell, Ronnie Williford, Heather Downing, Jason Williams, and William and Wayne Shadwick; seven great-grandchildren, Dakota Williford, Joshua and Katie Carroll, Zoe and Cameron Shadwick, and Shaina and Bradley Downing.
