Larry Don Dyer, born on January 25, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2025. He was a beloved member of his community, known for his vibrant spirit and passion for life. Larry graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School in 1974, a milestone that marked the beginning of a journey filled with adventure and accomplishment.
From a young age, Larry had a deep-seated love for dragracing and car shows. His enthusiasm was especially prominent in the exhilarating world of top fuel drag strip racing and funny car racing. Larry's affinity for classic rock music often accompanied his adventures, providing the perfect soundtrack to his explorations. He also enjoyed immersing himself in old westerns on television, a tribute to the narratives and characters that shaped his imagination.
Larry's professional journey began at Pizza Inn after high school, where he quickly transitioned into the bartending and nightclub industry. He played an instrumental role in the opening of Billy's Bobs of Texas in Fort Worth, a testament to his dedication and hard work in the entertainment sector.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Dwayne Dyer. His legacy will be honored by those who remain. He is survived by his sister, Diana Richards, and her husband, Rick. Larry also leaves behind his cherished nephews: Jason Sanders, Jesse Sanders, Johnathan Sanders, Dwayne Dyer II, and Robert Dyer. Additionally, he is survived by his great nephews Christian Dyer, Bryce Sanders, Riley Sanders, Caiden Sanders, and his great nieces, Haley Dyer and Ashley Dyer.
Larry's memorial services will include a visitation on October 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas, followed by a graveside service at Whitney Memorial Park at 1:00 PM. The officiating service will be conducted by Bruce Worley.
Larry Don Dyer’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
