Lynda Wynell (Watson) Brockette, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born on August 10, 1942, in Hill County as the only child of Isaac "Ike" and Leona Watson.
On April 30, 2025, she and her soulmate, Donald, celebrated 61 years of marriage. Together they raised two children Donald "Jr" and Rhonda. She was known as NeNe to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and so many others who loved her. Lynda was the heart of our home and family.
Lynda was a 1960 graduate of Bynum High School. She retired from the Texas Department of Human Services after 30 years of service. Other positions she held include working at the Grant-Buie Clinic, volunteering for several years at the Hill County Fair, being a substitute teacher at Bynum ISD, working at Marshall and Marshall and helping out during election time. In her younger years she was a member of the Hillsboro Riding Club. She and Donald were long-time members of Line Street Methodist Church and current members of the First United Methodist Church of West. Lynda supported all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in showing animals and attending their sporting events. Lynda's family was her greatest joy, and she was immensely proud of them all.
Lynda was known for her smile and friendly personality; she never met a stranger. Everyone who knew her knew she loved to "talk." Lynda was a constant source of joy and always full of laughter.
