Marcus Wayne Hardin

Marcus Wayne Hardin, age 96, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. He was born on February 26, 1930, to Jim and Lucile Hardin in Dallas, Texas.

Marcus lived a long and meaningful life marked by curiosity, creativity, and a deep love for his family. He was a proud Master Electrician and served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He had a passion for playing the guitar, inventing, and caring for his animals. He found great joy in the simple moments spent with those he loved most.

He shared 72 wonderful years with his beloved wife and the love of his life, Charlene Hardin. Together, they built a strong and loving family that will carry on his legacy.

Marcus is survived by his daughters, Mickie Dye and husband Jerry, Candi Smith, and her late husband Terry. He is also survived by his 11 beloved grandchildren,12 great grandchildren,&7 great great grandchildren, and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory

His sons, Gary and Michael Ford, preceded him in death.

Marcus always admired his childhood hero, Albert Einstein, whose words echo the legacy he leaves behind: “Our death is not an end if we have lived on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life.
