Maria Estrada

Maria Olga Estrada was born in Ciudad Acuna on April 14, 1945, to Maria Cerna and Antonio Gonzalez. She grew up in Acuna, where she met Alfonso Olivares Estrada, the love of her life. Alfonso and Maria, who affectionately called each other "Cora" (short for "Corazon"), shared 60 wonderful years together. They built a beautiful family and had seven children: Alfonso Estrada Jr., Mary Estrada, Olga Abreu, Ana Isavel Estrada, Millie Estrada, and David Estrada.

Maria's love language was undoubtedly feeding everyone; no one ever went hungry when she was around. She loved playing Mexican Loteria with her family and was incredibly competitive! There was truly never a dull moment with her. She also adored the holidays, often starting her preparations early for all the delicious food she would make. Empanadas, bunuelos, and tamales were among her specialties. The memories of how she cared for us daily and how she taught and helped us raise our own children will forever be embedded in our hearts.
Maria was, and will always be, an exceptional woman-the queen, heart, and soul of our family.

She is survived by her loving children: Alfonso Jr and Ana Estrada, Mary Estrada, Olga and Justino Abreu, Ana Isavel Estrada, Millie Estrada, and David and Olga Estrada. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfonso Estrada; her sons, Juan Antonio and David; her granddaughters, Maria Elizabeth and Jazmen; her great-granddaughter, Taylee; her parents, Maria Cerna and Antonio Gonzalez; and her brothers, Juan Manuel Contreras and Jose Luis Navarro.

Maria will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to have known her.
