Marshall Gary Hall, was born on June 9, 1946, in Charleston, West Virginia, and passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Burleson, Texas at the age of 79.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Hall and Rose Cook Hall; his sisters, Felicity Marlene Hall and Priscilla Gayle Hall; and his brothers, Terry Russell Hall and Carlton Dwight Hall.
Marshall’s childhood was shaped by his father Bill’s work in the oil and gas industry, which took the family across the United States and Canada, and later to the Middle East and Africa. During his teenage years, the family lived in Texas, where Marshall played football for Permian High School in Odessa. In his senior year, the family moved to Plainview, Texas, where he graduated from Plainview High School in 1964.
Marshall attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, earning Bachelor of Science and Arts degrees in Biology and English in 1968. While living in Plainview, he met and married his first wife, Linda Charlene Hall. Together, they had two children, Michael Shane Hall and Marchel Marlene Hall Eubank. After college, Marshall earned his teaching certificate and served as principal and superintendent of Bell Creek Schools in Montana. On weekends, he worked alongside his father in the Powder River Basin in the oil and gas industry. This work marked the beginning of a fifty-year career in oil and gas that would take Marshall and his family across the central United States and internationally to Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), and Azerbaijan.
While working in Baku, Azerbaijan, Marshall met his wife, Gulnara (Gulya). They were married on March 18, 2000, and together have their daughter, Leyla M. Hall.
Marshall had a lifelong passion for reading and amassed an extensive personal library, with a particular love for American history. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing. Above all, Marshall was a devoted provider, a loving father, and a dedicated husband. He deeply loved his wife, his children, and his dog, Vinny.
Marshall Gary Hall will be remembered for his intelligence, curiosity, steady dedication to his family, and the full life he lived across many places and cultures.
He is survived by his wife Gulya Hall of Azle, son Michael S. Hall and wife Jill of Whitney, daughter Marchel M. Eubank and husband Lyle of Whitney, daughter Leyla M. Hall of Azle, grand children Blake Eubank and wife Blaine of Whitney, Rex Eubank and wife Bianca of Whitney, Peyton Eubank and wife Ally of Dallas, Lyndsy Brassell and husband Shane of Whitney, Stephanie Bentley and husband Heath of Aquilla, great grandchildren Gage, Colt, Ava, Knox, Maddy, Brooks, Bellamy and Stone.
