Mary Louise Riley

Mary L. Riley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by family. Born on August 30, 1941, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Mary was the cherished daughter of Chester Turner and Thelma Kelley.

Her life was marked by a love for family, an adventurous spirit, and an unwavering zest for life.

Mary's heart found its home with her devoted husband, Larry Riley, to whom she was married for 57 wonderful years. Mary is survived by her loving children: son, Greg Bradley; daughter, Melody Hackfeld and her husband, David Hackfeld; and son, Jason Riley and his wife, Audrey Riley. Her legacy extends to her seven adoring grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense pride and joy.,

A lover of life's simple pleasures, Mary found great joy in traveling and camping, always ready for a new adventure. Her culinary talents were legendary among her family and friends, as she delighted in cooking home style meals. Her kitchen was a place of fun and laughter, where she often shared tales of cooking successes and the occasional humorous mishap, like the time cinnamon found its way into the chili instead of chili powder.

Mary's lighthearted nature was infectious, and she loved to share jokes from her monthly Woman's Day magazine. Her passion for reading was evident in her well-worn recipe books, which she read and reread with delight, always in search of the next dish to perfect.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Holiday Lane Estates Assisted Living and the Community Healthcare of Texas Hospice team for their dedicated care and support during Mary's final days.

Mary will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, watching over them from above, and sharing her laughter with the angels.
