Mary Walker

Mary Katherine Walker was the daughter of Clarence and Athalee Frank Myers. She grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1952. During that time she was a member of Line St. United Methodist Church. Mary attended Draughn's Business College in Dallas. She married James Pendergrass in 1953 and moved to Pawnee, Oklahoma then later moved to Arlington where she raised her four children. She was a Girl scout Leader and a den mother. Later she married J. D. Walker. Before retiring in 1989, she worked as an office manager for Morris Volkswagen for 30 years. Mary was living in Brookhaven Nursing Center in Carrollton at the time of her death. Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Mary Kate Myers and Lenora Jones. Survivors include children; Bill Pendergrass and wife Cheryl of Azle, TX, Donna Akin and husband Rick of Coppell, TX, Tom Pendergrass and wife Vicki of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Sherry Ewing and husband Jeff of Clayton, North Carolina; brother, James Carr; sisters, Clara Lee Myers, Doris Oliver, Frances Shellhorse, and Linda Lovell; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
