Maurine Deford

Maurine DeFord, 94, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Maurine was born April 2, 1913 in Malone, Texas, where she grew up, the daughter of Charles Preston and Ethel Walling Barrett. She graduated from Malone High School. In 1931 she married Buddy DeFord and he preceded her in death in 1957. She worked at the Hubbard and Malone banks before going to work for Citizens National Bank in Hillsboro, retiring in 1978. A member of many bridge clubs, Maurine loved to play bridge and liked to travel. She was a member of College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Bates Barrett. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn DeFord and Ann Brown both of Fort Worth.
