Michael “Mike” Keith Burnett, age 62 of Whitney passed away on Sunday April 10, 2022, at his residence.  He was born on October 6, 1959, to Ruby Mae (Hall) and Martin Troy Burnett in Cleburne, Texas. Mike was the youngest out of four children shared between the couple.  Growing up he loved working on their family farm in Rio Vista, Texas. Mike graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1977, then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Tarleton State University. From there he went on to work as a Cost Accountant for G&H Manufacturing, KWS, and John Manville. He also did work in auto part sales for Marco Supply, 4-M Parts Warehouse and Crossroads Auto. He could rattle off car part numbers like he was the computer itself.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Martin Troy and Ruby Burnett.

Mike is survived by his ex-wife, Barbara Jackson Burnett whom he was married to for 30 years; his four children, Jonathan Michael Burnett of Honolulu, Hawaii; Matthew Burnett of Columbia, Tennessee; Jennifer Jean Burnett of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee; and Melissa Jayne Lee of Okinawa, Japan.  Also his siblings, Pat Johnson of Pueblo, Colorado; Troy Gene Burnett of Burleson, Texas; Peggy Williams of Cleburne, Texas; and six grandchildren.

A Celebration of Mike's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, in the auditorium at the Burleson Church of Christ, 1150 NW John Jones Drive, Burleson, TX 76028.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.
