Minnie Pearl Ince, a cherished member of the Whitney community and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at the age of 82 at the Whitney Nursing Home in Whitney, Texas. Born on July 14, 1943, in Bynum, Texas, Minnie was the daughter of the late Willie Lee McCool and Lillie May Howard. She grew up in the region, attending school in Whitney and participating in several community schools, where she developed a lasting bond with her hometown.
Minnie was a devoted member of Towash Baptist Church, where her faith provided comfort and guidance throughout her life. She found joy in the simplest pleasures — whether it was spending time fishing, engaging in the adventure of geocaching, or delighting in playing electronic games filled with bells and whistles. Among her many favorite pastimes was playing Burro, a game she enjoyed sharing with friends and family. Above all, Minnie treasured her role as a loving mother and family woman, relishing the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
On December 2, 1960, Minnie united in marriage with William J. (Willie) Ince. Their lifelong partnership was a source of strength and companionship until Willie’s passing on May 20, 2010.
Minnie is survived by her devoted children: Jessie (Joe) Ince and his wife Rhonda; Bubba Ince and his wife Patsy; Jerry Ince and his wife Lisa; Jason Ince and his wife Kim; and John Ince and his wife Shanda. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Paula Lancaster Beene, and her husband Kenneth. The family further extends through thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy of love, warmth, and family spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and five sisters, whose memories she held dear throughout her life.
Visitation will be held at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, located at 201 N Bosque St, Whitney, TX 76692, on May 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the same location on May 8, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery, Hill County Road 1245, Whitney, TX 76692, commencing at 11:00 a.m. on May 8, 2026.
Minnie Pearl Ince’s life was marked by devotion to family, faith, and the simple joys that made her days bright. Her gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and resilience that will continue to inspire her family and community for generations to come.
