Morris Morgan Sr

Morris Mason Morgan, Sr., 77, of Abbott died Friday, December 23, 2005, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Morris was born January 4, 1928 in Abbott, Texas, where he grew up, the son of Walter L. and Dora Ellen Dugger Morgan. From 1946-1947 he served in the U. S. Army. In 1950 he married Laverna R. Hallman in Waco. They moved back to the Abbott area where he retired. He was a Deacon for several years at Abbott Baptist Church, where he was also a member. Preceding him in death were his parents and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Laverna Morgan of Abbott; two sons, Morris Morgan, Jr. of Mansfield and Gary Morgan of Abbott; a brother, Weldon Morgan of Utah; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
