Nancy Karen York

On September 3rd, 2025, Nancy “Nana” Karen York-Gant, age 83, went to be with the Lord. Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she poured into her family.

Nancy was born in Whitney, Texas, on February 2nd, 1941, to Arthur Pete Gant & Mink Rose May Gant, and later made her home in Morgan. She loved life’s simple joys: the warmth of the Texas sun on her porch, a glass of sweet tea in hand, and the company of her loyal little chihuahua, PJ. These quiet moments reflected the peace and contentment she carried in her heart.

To her family, Nancy was more than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—she was the rock, the comfort, and the steady presence that held everyone together. She was a proud and loving mother to her sons Russell Cunningham, Randy Evans, and Rickey Evans, and her daughter, Lucinda. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest accomplishments and biggest blessings.

She loved all of her great-grandchildren more than life itself, and her eyes would light up with every hug, every laugh, and every visit.

Nancy was preceded in death by her grandson Jesse in 2022, and we find peace in knowing that they are now reunited in heaven.   

Her kindness, warmth, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Though she may no longer sit on her porch with sweet tea in hand, her spirit will always surround her family like the Texas breeze she loved so much.

Nana’s legacy is one of unconditional love, simple joys, and family first—a legacy that will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
