Naomi Ruth Collins, born on December 26, 1943, to Freddie Lamar Spires and Elsie Gertrude Davidson Spires, peacefully went home on May 14, 2025. Her remarkable life was filled with diverse experiences and achievements that reflected her multifaceted talents and passions.

Naomi dedicated herself to various professions throughout her lifetime, embracing roles as a carpenter, Air Force airman, truck driver, and entrepreneur. Her resilience and determination were evident in every endeavor she pursued. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a beloved friend, sister, daughter, mother, and grandmother whose presence illuminated the lives of those around her.

An avid lover of fishing, Naomi found joy in the tranquility of nature, and she often cherished those moments spent by the water. Music held a special place in her heart, as she delighted in playing the accordion in church, sharing her musical gifts with her community. Additionally, she had a great fondness for bingo, eagerly participating in games whenever she could.

Naomi is survived by her twin brother, James Aurther Spires, and her sister, Rita Pauline Jones. Her legacy continues through her children, Bill Parker, Gene Allen Collins II, Glen Andrew Collins, and daughter Virginia Ann Heath. She was also a proud grandmother, leaving behind her cherished grandchildren: Cody Alex Collins, Piper Abigail Collins, Gene Allen Collins III, Kristopher Glen Collins, Lucas Glen Andrew Collins, Colton Andrew Ray Miller, Jordan David McKnight, Harmony Lynn Parker, Christian Lynn Parker, Kinley Bree Parker, and Jackson Oliver Heath.

Her absence will be felt deeply, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for family will be held at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM. Graveside services will take place at Whitney Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 19, 2025. A repast will follow the services at 123 Erie Trail, Whitney, TX 76692, where food and beverages will be provided to honor her memory.
