Naomi La France Williams Davis Shaw, 93, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Ken James officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2015, at the funeral home.
Born September 8, 1921 on North Church Street in Hillsboro, she was the daughter of John V. and Mary (Tripp) Williams. She attended school in Hillsboro. For several years, she worked as a waitress at Doyle Café and Andrews Café, both in Hillsboro. She was also a sales lady at Lintz and K Woolens Department Stores. On December 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Vereen Everett Shaw. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1998.
Naomi loved her family and friends very dearly. An excellent cook, she always made sure to prepare three meals a day in her home. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, where she attended the Mary Martha Sunday School Class.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Joseph Alonzo Williams, Raymond Mack Williams, and Lois Alton Williams; two sisters, Maggie Lillian Barnes and Ora Lee Fulton; two nephews, Donald Barnes and Billy Jack (B. J.) Barnes; and three nieces, Beverly Ann Fulton, Judy Musse, and Wanda Copper.
Survivors include her sons, Cullen Davis and wife, Kaye, of Whitney and Nick Shaw and wife, Joy, of Red Oak; daughter, Tommie Carolyn Shaw of Ennis; three grandsons, Cory Davis and wife, Elizabeth, of Nolensville, TN, Kyle Davis and wife, Tabatha, of Hillsboro, and Scott Shaw of Arlington; three granddaughters, Deborah Shaw of Midland, Pamela Shaw and Rhonda Shaw, both of Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Kate and Mason Shaw of Arlington and Graham, Scarlett, and Sloane Davis, all of Nolensville, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a host of close friends.
