Nelda Berryhill

Nelda Gay Grigsby Berryhill, age 90, of Longview, Texas, died Thursday, July 17, 2025, in Longview, Texas.

She was born September 2, 1934, in Whitney, Texas; daughter of Roy Brownie Grigsby and Effie Mae Padgett Grigsby. She was a 1953 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She married Billy Joe Berryhill in Hillsboro on September 16, 1955; he preceded her in death on April 2, 1975. She retired from a banking career which began at Hillsboro State Bank in May 1953. She was a resident of Irving from 1962 until September 2021, then moved to Longview.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; a grandson, Brandon Joseph Walthall; and a brother, Roy Edwin Grigsby.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Gay Steed and husband, Cliff, of Longview, and Carol Jo King and husband, Kelvin, of Longview; and grandson, Ross Cameron Feldpausch of Denton, Texas.

A private graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM, Monday, July  21, 2025 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory, Hillsboro.
