Norma Bearden

Norma Lee (Young) Bearden, age 92, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 7, 2025, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery in Hillsboro, officiated by Pastor Levin Ainsworth. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

She was born in Ellis County July 26, 1933, to Henry Joseph and Ella Mae (Bullard) Young. Norma grew up in Bynum and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Barney Bearden September 2, 1949, in Hillsboro. Norma worked for Hillsboro Independent School District for twenty-nine years while raising her family in Hillsboro.

Norma enjoyed the role of homemaker, fishing, traveling, and family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Joseph and Ella Mae Young; her brothers, Marvin Young, Kenneth Young, and Floyd Young; and her sister, Doris McCauley. Norma is survived by her husband of seventy-six years, Barney Bearden; her children, Larry Bearden, and Patricia Denard and husband, Darren; her grandchildren, Jason Bearden and wife, Sherri, Jana Nors and husband, Kenneth, Brandy Blair and husband, Clint, and Kimberly Burd and husband, Shawn; thirteen great-grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley Clinkscales and husband, Doug, Linda Galle and husband, Roger; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
