Peggy Ray Stewart, a beloved native of Aquilla, Texas, passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on April 5, 1943, to Ray and Mattie Faglie, Peggy’s life was deeply rooted in the community where she was raised. She graduated from Aquilla, Texas, and went on to marry William (Bill) Stewart. Together, they built a life centered on family and service, including owning and operating Stewart Office Supply, a local business that served their community with dedication.

Peggy’s presence was a cornerstone for many, and her legacy continues through her devoted family. She is survived by her two sons, Doug Stewart and his wife Linda of Carls Corner, Texas, and Curtis Stewart of Canyon Lake, Texas. Her cherished grandchildren include Wayne Stewart and his wife Jessica of Whitney, Khrystal Garcia and her husband George of Odessa, Dusty Burrell and his husband Stacey of Cleburne, Misty Holland of Carls Corner, and Ricky Dawkins and his wife Barbara of Hillsboro. Peggy’s loving heart extended further to six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who brought much joy to her later years.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Peggy is remembered fondly by her brothers CW Faglie and his wife Connie of Saginaw, and Joe Faglie and his wife Betty of Hallsburg. Her sisters, Janie Hartley and her husband Mike of Bailey, and Sue Corona of Georgetown, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, also share in the remembrance of her life and spirit.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Stewart, her parents, Ray and Mattie Faglie, as well as her brothers Johnny and Jack Faglie, and her sister Billie Hunter.

A viewing to honor and celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on June 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, located at 201 N Bosque St, Whitney, Texas 76692. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Peggy Ray Stewart are invited to gather and pay their respects.

Peggy’s life was marked by enduring family devotion, a strong work ethic, and a warm spirit that embraced those around her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her commitment to her family and community, and the lasting impact she made in the hearts of all who knew her.
