Richard Akin

Richard Eugene Butch Akin, 67, of Hillsboro died Friday, September 24, 2010, at Homestead Nursing & Rehab in Hillsboro A memorial service will be held at a later date in Princeton. He was born Nov. 30, 1942 in McKinney to Leaton E. and Mary Lou Smith Akin. He was a great carpenter and loved life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother. He is survived by his three children, Jody Akin, Anthony Akin, and Lisa Akin Burke; two sisters, Sadie Sue Weems of Ida and Patricia Shows of Garland; brother, Thurman E. Akin of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews. He had many friends who will miss him sorely.
