Richard "Rick" Owen Lind, 67, of Hillsboro, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be on August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM, in his home.
Richard was born on February 1, 1959, in Pontiac, Michigan to Winifred Falconer Lind and Owen Thomas Lind. He married Lori Elizabeth Woods on August 15, 1981, welcoming their son, Kian, in 1998, and daughter, Seren, in 2000.
Richard was a graduate of Midway High School in Waco, Texas. He continued education at the University of North Texas where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture. After college, he worked for ST Microelectronics for over 30 years. He then became a special education teacher for public school children.
Richard had a strong faith in God. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was a scoutmaster and leader in his son's troops. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, stone sculpting, fixing things, grilling, and entertaining. Richard gained an interest in art and adventure during travels with his father as a child.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Elizabeth Lind; children Kian Barclay Lind of Hillsboro, Texas, and Seren Ember Elizabeth Lind of Austin, Texas; grandsons Jack Owen Lind and Scot Odis Lind of Hillsboro, Texas; father Owen Thomas Lind and wife Laura Davalos Lind; brother Thomas David Lind and wife Vikki Thrower Lind of Greenville, Texas; brother-in-law Jimmy Paul Woods and wife Lori Woods of Joshua, Texas; nieces Heather Lind of Greenville, Texas, and Holly Eaton of Acacia Gardens, Australia; nephews Jake, Tanner, Aston, and Riley Woods of Joshua, Texas; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and pets. He is preceded in death by his mother, Winifred Jean Falconer Chappel.
In lieu of flowers, he preferred supporting local artists or donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
